Database Design

Many sites such as CMS and ecommerce are already database driven web sites. That means that certain parts and functions of the site are contained within a database which supplies this information as needed to your viewer's web browser based on the nature of their navigation.  These are "dynamic" sites and most pages really do not exist except for the particular viewer as requested.

Additional database use can enhance an otherwise static site by providing user interaction. You may have a membership organization and wish to include a searchable database of your members and their business information and company logo. This type of directory would be a common use of a database application. Some of these are ready-made and only require installation and configuration.

We typically program in PHP using MySQL database platforms. This is "geek talk" so don't worry if you don't know what these terms mean. We can also educate you when necessary though typically we just provide the software and teach you how to use your interface so programming  jargon is not a concern.
