Email List Distribution

It is often desirable for certain types of businesses to be able to send email messages on a regular basis to a list of subscribers. This could be to distribute a news letter, to send special offers or coupons to your clients or to update them to important changes that may impact their accounts.

If your needs are small you can probably create a mail list in your own email program. But be careful if you do this to be sure to conceal your customer's email addresses from each other. ( Bcc: ) Sending an email that exposes all of your recipients is a no-no from a privacy stand point. These emails my be forwarded by others along with all of your customer's emails.  You don't want your competition to have these emails and you don't want them to wind up on some spam email list.

An email list on your web server solves several problems. It does not reveal any of your customer's emails to anyone else and it provides for the automation of subscriptions. Each message will contain instructions to recipients on how to remove or change their email address. You won't have to be bothered with this chore again. Also by placing subscription information on your page you can solicit people to join your list(s) creating a valuable opt-in resource for inhouse use.

This type of list is already included in most of our CMS and Ecommerce shopping carts. If you will need to host multiple lists for various specific topics then you will require a separate list manager.
